O artigo seguinte possui dois objectivos claros: Primeiro dar a conhecer um legado de um dos edifícios de wrestling mais conhecidos no Mundo e segunda dar a conhecer a verdadeira ECW, não aquele garbage wrestling mas sim tudo o que de bom a ECW deu ao wrestling. No fim espera-se feedback para se tentar analisar os benefícios destes artigos que ocorrerão semanalmente.
Estávamos em Janeiro e na véspera de um show da ECW em 8 de Janeiro, um nevão cortou a energia eléctrica na área de Filadélfia, ficando mais de 350.000 pessoas sem electricidade. Mesmo assim a ECW no show do dia 8 teve uma assistência de 200 pessoas com base só no passar de palavra entre as pessoas e pelos telefonemas do announcer Bob Artese. As pessoas vieram ver o campeão da altura Terry Funk batalhar ”The Franchise” Shane Douglas durante 45 minutos e o combate terminar num no-contest que serviu para originar o combate que irei apresentar, um combate ameaça tripla no show The Night The Line Was Crossed e que envolveu Sabu vs. Shane Douglas vs. Terry Funk.

Em Abril, Arn Eerson e Bobby Eaton invadiram a ECW, desvendado um dos segredos mais bem guardados na história do wrestling. O pop que se gerou nessa noite foi dos maiores em toda a história da ECW.
O duelo de arame farpada entre os Public Enemy e Dory/Terry Funk teve lugar no HeatWave de 1994 perante uma casa cheia pesar das temperaturas elevadas que se faziam sentir dentro desta.
Em Julho de 1994, Cactus Jack fez a sua estreia na ECW, posso dizer que foi amor a primeira vista por parte dos fãs de Filadélfia. Mick Foley estreou-se com uma gimmick “anti-hardcore”
Em Agosto de 1994 ocorreu o torneio pelo título da NWA, torneio esse que teve nomes como Dean Malenko, Chris Benoit, Osamu Nishimura, Shane Douglas e Two Cold Scorpio. Este show será sempre relembrado pela vitória de Shane Douglas e com este a mandar para o lixo o título da NWA e declarou que a promoção não era mais a NWA Eastern Championship Wrestling mas sim Extreme Championship Wrestling.
Durante Outubro e Novembro de 1994, ocorreu o angle da cegueira de Sandman, que foi votado como o angle do ano, um trabalho tão bem desenvolvido que tive gente a ligar-me a perguntar se era verdade ou mentira. Durante esse ano de 1994, na Arena foram vistos nomes como 911, Chad Austin, Mr. Hughes, Sal Bellomo, Tommy Cairo, Seman, Gary Wolf, Public Enemy (Rocco Rock e Johnny Grunge), The Sheik, Pat Tanaka, Road Warrior Hawk, The Bruise Brothers e Mike Awesome.
